CRN Salary Survey – Citrix CCA's receive substantial gains

Industry salary surveys always provide good insight into the IT job market and the latest comes from the July issue of CRN magazine.   Overall, the survey shows decent gains over the previous year with Citrix CCA and MCSE certification holders seeing the largest percentage improvements in salary.  Those with a Citrix CCA Certification had a salary increase of 9.5% to an average salary of $77,500.  MCSEs showed a 7.7% gain and a $71,500 average salary.

One of the key findings of the survey showed that technicians and engineers with multiple certifications had a significantly higher level of compensation as well as greater increases in pay.  With the job market being tight, it is important for employers to get value from their staff and those certified in multiple products and technologies provide greater staffing flexibility.  As an example, CRN shows an average salary for an MCSE with no other certification as $63,900, while an MCSE who has other certifications as well, had an average salary of $73,200.
